26 Years Of Baazigar: Kajol Posts A Video Of Her Not-So ‘Kaali Kaali Aankhein’

1993’s Diwali release Baazigar clocks 26 years, today. The film, which starred Shah Rukh Khan opposite Kajol and Shilpa Shetty in the lead role is still one of the most popular films of Indian cinema. Apart from being based on a revenge plot, the Abbas-Mastan directorial venture became hit for its songs, one of which is, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein picturised on Kajol and SRK. The number became a huge hit back then and is still one of the favourites at any house parties. 

As Baazigar clocks 26 years today, Kajol took to social media to celebrate the occasion with a quirky video. As seen in the video, the actress can be seen winking with her not-so Kaali Kaali Aakhein. Sharing the boomerang video, Kajol captioned it, “Oops! still don’t have black eyes #26YearsOfBaazigar” Well, she’s not giving competition to Priya Varrier AKA the wink girl, she in fact wants you to see her brown-brown eyes. Well apart from that, fans took to social media to hail SRK’s last death scene. A user wrote, “Many actors played negative roles as an actor in Indian Cinema, but they were not able to make a deep impact in your mind so that we could cry for them. For the first time when the audience cried for a negative role, this role changed the prominency of negative roles.” While another shared close up of SRK’s face and wrote, “His acting and that evil laugh at the end is a perfect example why SRK sir is the Greatest Actor of Indian Cinema.”

A girl also praised SRK character and wrote, “#Baazigar spawned an entire genre of anti-hero movies topical to the change we saw in the The 90s in how cinema perceives male character. However, it was Shah Rukh's portrayal of the psychotic killer where he turns sympathetic, almost desirable, even though the end has to be tragic.”
